At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we do not have the final answer to all of life’s questions, particularly those about the nature of God and God’s love for us. But one thing is for certain, we are committed to continually seeking after God and the truth of God’s love, and we want to invite you and your children to embark on a journey with us this year. Our destination: “closer to God.” Our programs will be Biblically sound, grace-filled, experiential, and warmly relational.
This year, the children’ education programs at Westminster will include:
Sunday Morning Children’s Church during 9:30 worship.
o Children will leave the sanctuary after the children’s sermon and will continue worshiping by encountering God’s story from the Bible.
o
There will be a K-2nd grade group and a 3rd-5th grade group.
o Children aged pre-K and younger will be provided a story time and activities in the
professionally staffed nursery. They may go to the nursery at any time before or during worship.
Wednesday Night Children’s Program
o Children’s Choir and Bell Choir for children in grades K-5 from 5:00-5:30 (please sign your child up using the additional form provided)
o
Meal provided for children, youth, and adult leaders of all ages from 5:30-6:00
o Lesson Hour for grades K-5 will be from 6:00-7:00. See below for curriculum details.
Our programs for children will provide regular opportunities for children to build community, celebrate diversity, share generously, and learn of God’ wondrous love. Our main curriculum is called Walk with Me, a biblical-story based curriculum that is structured and concrete, yet flexible enough to allow room for creativity, imagination, and wonder. It approaches the entire Bible as one interrelated story of God’ saving love for the world which then calls us all to live as part of God’ kingdom.
